Marisco Lounge sits sand side on South Bay, Scarborough.
The blue-fronted building, with diamond-style signage, blends tastefully alongside the neighbouring arcades which line sand side. With outdoor seating, bifold doors for those warmer days, and an upper level for eating and drinking which is perfect for lounging whilst looking out over the harbour – Marisco Lounge is a welcomed addition to not only new eateries in Scarborough but sand side too.
Lounges, founded in 2002, had an original business idea of creating somewhere they wanted to drink. With a ‘Lounge’ now all over the UK, Marsico being just one, that’s turned into quite a successful bar crawl I’d say! The decor and visuals for the Lounges are described as eccentric and ‘potty’. Whilst also being sympathetic and accommodating to each location. Personally, I loved the decor, they’ve definitely nailed the ‘loungin’ feel.
In regards to food,it’s labelled as indulging and fun. With a menu serving breakfast, lunch, main meals and of course, desserts. Lounges also prides itself on an inclusive and tasty gluten free and vegan menu, as well as a menu for the younger ones/kids.
Although a number of dishes took to my fancy, the Halloumi Burger and Bang Bang Chicken being a couple of contenders, I decided upon the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, which came with chipotle mayo, house slaw and fries. It was thoroughly enjoyed. Being designated driver, but wanting something a little different I browsed the drinks menu and decided upon a non-alcoholic cocktail named Light & Stormy, with was a non-alcoholic spirit from Caleño, mixed with ginger ale & lime.
On a whole, Marisco Lounge, Scarborough is definitely a place to visit. It’s perfectly placed on the beach for locals and tourists alike, it caters for everyone AND is dog friendly and also not forgetting to mention, is available for takeaways.
